The
event was the 10th edition of the MTN SuperSport Shootout with three
years overseen by EXP for a great brand experience at the exclusive
by-invitation-only golf event, which comprised of an invitational field event
of top government officials, high profile executives, business people and
legendary South African sportsmen competing alongside each other on the golf
course.
While there were various activations by different sponsors
at the event, the cigar lounge, conceptualised by EXP, was by far the most
popular spot in the evenings at the MTN SuperSport Shootout. The 2013 Shootout
also saw the maiden Ladies golf event, which took place on Thursday, 30th
May in Zimbali.
Out on the golf course, it was a former football man who
took centre stage with Neil Tovey clinching the 2013 MTN SuperSport
Shootout. The former Bafana Bafana
captain won the hotly contested Shootout as he kept his cool on his final two
holes.
In the betterball pairs competition, former
Proteas wicketkeeper Mark Boucher and Peter Matkovich added a three-under par
69 to their impressive overnight score to beat off SuperSport commentator Neil
Andrews and Neil Tovey’s elder brother and former Kaizer Chiefs player, Mark,
now a Nike Golf employee.
