Our Beer. Our Braai. Castle Lager Come Together To Break World Record

On Tuesday 24th of September South Africa celebrated Heritage Day and Castle Lager played their part as they hosted several events around the country to mark the occasion and in doing so ensured that history was made.  
Castle Lager hosted simultaneous events in Cape Town, Durban, East London, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Pretoria with the aim of setting a new world record for the greatest number of people preparing and cooking the same meal, at events held simultaneously at different venues set by a single organisation. 

The record that Castle Lager needed to beat was 2311 people and this record was set and verified on 25 September 2011 in Chiba, Japan. 
Castle Lager created the platforms around the country, giving the public access to great facilities, Celebrated with our “Home grown” Beer, Castle Lager, superb entertainment and Our “BRAAI” – an activity that unites all South Africans together. 

Castle Lager successfully achieved their objective as a new record of 2353 individuals braaiing simultaneously, was set and confirmed by Guinness World Records adjudicator Rob Molloy who flew into the country from the United Kingdom to verify the official result.
