The annual MTN8 Last Journo Standing competition
opened the battle grounds for football journalists to challenge each other in a
stimulating football trivia competition to identify t6he 2013 Last Journo
Standing.
The competition which kicked off last Tuesday till
21st September sees football media in various regions go
head-to-head to determine who the most knowledgeable journo is in the nation Keeping
true to the theme of MTN8 Wafa Wafa, EXP conceptualised the now hugely popular
Last Journo Standing competition for media involved with the MTN8 tournament, to
encourage media engagement. For the third edition of the competition.
The winner for this year’s edition of LJS will
travel to the UK during the 2013/14 season to watch an English Premiership
match of their choice between December 2013 to April 2014, as well as receive a
once in a lifetime opportunity to exchange their knowledge with their British counterparts
by spending a week at a leading media organisation.
The setup for this year’s competition will again take
place in the form of an interactive “media quiz session”. These media quiz
sessions will take place in the six regions around the country with two
wildcard entries from the online competition. Current finalists as follows with
two regional events remaining:
- Polokwane leg – Nyiko Sithole from Munghana Lonene
- Durban leg – Carl Peters from Daily News
- Bloemfontein leg –Teboho Setena from SABC Bloem
